Well, after getting up at 4:00, cramming 5 of us into a car made for 2.5, flying down the freeway, watching Matt get bag checked for a jar of honey, and sitting on the tarmac for 30 minutes past our departure time, I’m now on Standby in ATL. I don’t know whether to be very disappointed to not get home soon to my crew, or excited to get a little more quiet time to write, read and people watch.
***Here it is, 6:15, and after a long day of oversold flights that have prevented me getting home, I’ve now been given a seat on the 7:10 flight, an apology from Delta, and a First Class Ticket. I think I’ve only flown first class one other time, on a short 27 minute flight between Hawaiian Islands.
Because much of the day has been spent running from gate to gate and reading, I’ve not processed the weekend as of yet. It was tremendous fun, but very overwhelming. There is much more thinking and writing that I need to do.
But for now I’m going to sit back, relax, maybe even nap, and enjoy first class.
