Do you think Jesus ever laughed–I mean the deep, from the gut laughter that has you doubled over?
My crew and I are watching a movie, and we are laughing so hard. It’s a Madea play–Madea goes to jail—and we’re laughing until tears are rolling out.
Laughter is a great gift from God. It is good to laugh, and to laugh loudly. I love this verse in Psalms:
2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with shouts of joy;
then they said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
3 The Lord has done great things for us;
we are glad.
I also love this verse in Luke:
21 “Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied.
“Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.
Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. This is a promise. I wonder if we will laugh in heaven, with eternal joy? I know our future home will be filled with joy, I wonder if it will be filled with laughter as well.
Jesus was God in the form of a man. Jesus must have laughed. Can you imagine that? I love the idea of my Jesus enjoying a good laugh. And I’m grateful that He provides moments of hilarity and happiness that allow us to forget the worries and the weeping this world causes, and gives us a glimpse of heaven through the gift of laughter.
